After months of busting the chops of the Republican Party via Tina Fey's hilarious and thought-provoking impersonation of Sarah Palin...well, SNL let me down.
First - they let Sarah Palin on where Baldwin basically said she was hotter IRL and Tina ducked out of the way. They wrote a rap for/about her.
Then, they let McCain on. Then Ben Affleck sort of endorsed McCain.
I mean, come on. Unfortunately, there are undecided voters out there who will say, "well, McCain is funnier/has a better sense of humor/whatever than Obama...I'm sold!"
Allowing McCain to showcase his funny skills and endear undecided voters is nothing short of irresponsible, especially given the amount of legitimate questions they raised up until a couple of weeks ago.
Boo SNL. Boo.

Hmm...
What about the Equal Time rule? As far as I can tell, SNL does not count as an exception (documentary, bona-fide news interview, news broadcast, on-the-spot interview). So everything else aside, since NBC gave 'free' airtime to Obama, they were obligated to do the same thing for McCain.
Second, so what if they did? Why does it matter if McCain and Palin go on? What I thought was interesting is that they didn't have them both on the same night, and I can only conclude that they are a business and they want to boost their ratings as high as possible to get more money.
I'm sure there were plenty of dudes who voted the McCain ticket because they thought that Palin was 'hot'. To me, voting for McCain because he has a sense of humor and is able to present himself in a self-depreciating way is a better reason than voting for someone because of their physical attributes. Palin looked stiff on SNL; she didn't look natural. McCain actually looked like he was having fun.
Finally...who cares what Ben Affleck thinks, anyhow? :D He's kind of a tool!
